PSERS SERS
Normal Retirement Benefits Return to Service
Would allow for SERS annuitants returning to service as part-time state-certified fire instructors to do so without suspending their annuity payments. Also stipulates that these individuals would not be subject to withholdings of the employee or employer share of the pension plans. Dictates that employees in these positions that opt to not terminate the payment of annuities upon return to part-time employment under these provisions are not eligible for creditable school service or payments in relation to the Public School Employees' Retirement System and are not eligible for participation in the School Employees' Defined Contribution Plan. Would apply to individuals returning to work as part-time state-certified fire instructors at: the Pennsylvania Fire Academy, the Department of Education, a state-owned educational institution, a community college, or the Pennsylvania State University.
