Public Safety Employee Benefit Service Credit Purchase
Requires cities, other than a city of the first class, boroughs, towns, townships and regional police departments to amend their statutes to allow for uniformed police officers the option to purchase up to five years of pension service for prior part- or full-time police service. Provides for methodology in determination of value. Restricts purchase eligibility to: (1) not allow for purchase of time in prior police service that the officer is eligible to receive pension credit for, and (2) to not allow for prior police service purchased plus eligible military service purchased to exceed five years.
